APPLICATIONS for Spring 2010 are now open to Single Subject and Multiple Subject Pre-Req and Full Credential students.  The School of Education is not accepting applications for the Education Specialist program or Masters programs for Spring. Please click on the left hand navigation link titled "Application"

 We are proud to announce that California State University Channel Islands was granted accreditation by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) in May of 2007.  Accreditation is widely recognized by employers, professional associations, and other colleges and universities.

Credential programs have been granted full accreditation by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing Committee on Accreditation.  The teacher and administrative credential programs at CSUCI were awarded full seven-year accreditation on June 25, 2009


If you are a Junior, Senior, Pre-requisite or Credential Student and you plan on teaching in California in grades K-12 you may be eligible for a loan re-paymeAPLE Logont program.

Teaching Credential Programs

CSU Channel Islands teaching credential programs prepare public school educators for teaching in grades P-12. All prospective teachers in CSU Channel Islands credential programs will develop the necessary skills to meet the needs of the diverse student population found in California public schools, including students with special needs and English-language learners. All programs offer a unique blend of theory and classroom practice, offering up-to-date, standards-based instruction.

Important Deadline Information

Application to all Credential Programs is a dual process. CSUCI Admissions and Records require a Post-Baccalaureate application. CSUCI Credential Programs require a separate application. For consideration to the Single Subject or Multiple Subject programs, prospective Credential students can apply online through November 12th,  2009.  If you need to schedule an appointment with one of our Analysts to go over all necessary items required for your application, please call (805) 437-8953 as soon as possible.

University Post-Baccalaureate applications filed during the filing period for Spring 2010 must be postmarked by Thursday, November 12th, 2009. Online application services for the University application are available at www.csumentor.edu.
