Field Placement Office
The Field Placement Office at CSU Channel Islands (CI) is here to work with student observers and teacher candidates, to insure that they have an enriching experience with the finest cooperating teachers in Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties. We identify schools that understand and accept the University’s Vision Statement and our specific needs as a program. We strive to identify schools with linguistic and diverse classrooms, to ensure that our students have experiences that will facilitate their becoming successful teachers of children. It is the responsibility of the Field Placement Office to select appropriate school sites and cooperating teachers. Placements are handled by the Field Placement Office only! Students are notified as to their placement and who their supervisor will be during the first week of school in Seminar. The student teaching experience is a wonderful opportunity to see how classrooms are run, how different teachers with different styles and personalities all work together to educate students.
