Field Placement Office

The Field Placement Office at CSUCI, is here to work with student observers and student teachers, to insure that they have an enriching experience with some of the finest cooperating teacher in Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties. We identify schools that understand and accept the University’s vision statement and our specific needs as a program. We strive to identify schools with linguistic and diverse classrooms, to make sure that our students have experiences that they will need to become successful teachers. It is up to the field placement office to select appropriate school sites and cooperating teachers. Placements are handled by the field placement office only! Students are notified of where they are placed and who their supervisors are the first week of school in seminars. Student teaching is a wonderful opportunity to see how classrooms are run and how different teachers with different styles and personalities all work together to educate students.
