Sept. 26, 2018 - The Ventura County Autism Society has recognized a CSUCI alumnus and a Professor of Education and Political Science with Awesome in Autism Awards. The awards are presented annually to recipients who make a difference in the lives of individuals and families throughout the county.
Amy Dobzynski, CSUCI School of Education special education teacher graduate, received the Outstanding Educator Award for her exemplary work in K-8 schools. Tiina Itknonen, Professor of Education and Political Science received the Educator of the Year award for her exemplary work in K-8 schools. Tiina Itknonen, Professor of Education and Political Science received the Educator of the Year award for post-secondary education and advocacy. They will be honored, along with other awardees, at the Awesome in Autism Awards Dinner on Oct. 4 at the Wyndham Garden Ventura Pierpont Inn.
