Danna Hernandez, Delta Kappa Gamma Society scholarship awardee, is a Liberal Studies Teaching and Learning major seeking a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential with a Bilingual Authorization. Her teaching aspiration is to become a bilingual educator and teach primary grades in Ventura County, where she grew up.

“I would like to work among students who are learning more than one language in a biliterate and bicultural school setting,” said Danna. “I enjoy working with students from preschool through eighth grade and enjoy teaching all subject matter. Among all subjects, my favorite subject to teach is mathematics because it challenges student’s beliefs in what they are capable of learning and accomplishing.”

Receiving the Delta Kappa Gamma scholarship has helped Danna get one step closer to achieving her dreams of becoming an educator, all while allowing her to continue to work in a field she is passionate about. She added, “In May 2021, I will become the first person in my family to earn a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. Thank you, Delta Kappa Gamma Society, for your contribution, consideration, and for believing in my dreams.”
