CODEL Student Michelle Hasendonckx co-authors piece on equitable practices for student success

“One Degree: Collaborating with Community College Partners for Student Success,” published in Peer Review, Summer 2018, Vol 20, No. 3, explores a dynamic partnership between Santa Barbara City College and CSUCI.

 

This partnership illuminates how community colleges and 4 year institutions can work together to create structures and practices to help ensure the success of students, particularly those representing historically underserved communities.

The authors contend that focusing on equity can allow cross-campus collaborations to help close achievement gaps by recognizing the retention and support needs related to diverse student populations.
