We are very pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Elizabeth C. Orozco Reilly as the Dean of the School of Education and Professor of Educational Leadership and Education. Dr. Reilly is a committed educational leader who will advance the mission of the School of Education to serve our region by effectively preparing culturally competent teachers and leaders who work collaboratively to inspire learning and promote equity through high quality education experiences. 

A recognized international scholar investigating women in educational leadership, with graduate students and fellow scholars, she presents and researches globally. She works with leaders of multinationals, government, non-governmental organizations, and education on five continents. Dr. Reilly has conducted investigations in numerous countries including Afghanistan, China, Costa Rica, India, Ireland, Mexico, Russia, Rwanda & Singapore with the goal of sharing stories of those that should be told. American Educational Research Association’s Leadership for Social Justice SIG honored Dr. Reilly as its recipient of the "LSJ Bridge People Award," a recognition of people whose work “creates a bridge between themselves and others” through scholarship and research. AERA’s International Studies Special Interest Group has recognized her research in Afghanistan with its “Outstanding Paper Award,” and in April 2022, honored her with its “Lifetime Achievement Award” for her international scholarship and service. Loyola Marymount University has honored Dr. Reilly as one of its notable professors during her time there.
